EMMY AWARDS
2024 Emmys predictions: Who are the favorites to win the main categories? The Bear, Succession...
HBO comedy-drama ‘Succession’ leads the way for nominations and has been tipped to win big at the 75th edition of the Emmy Awards.
The 75th edition of the Primetime Emmy Awards will finally take place on Monday 15 January 2024 after the ceremony, originally scheduled for last September, was postponed due to the actors’ union strike, which prevented actors from attending award ceremonies. The gala, which will be hosted by Anthony Anderson, will now take place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on live on Fox at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT.
The Television Academy of the United States announced the nominees for the 75th Emmy Awards all the way back on 12 July last year, just under 48 hours before the onset of the actors’ union strike, which subsequently brought all production and promotion in the entertainment industry to a halt and ultimately led to the postponement of the gala.
Which TV shows have received the most nominations for the 2024 Emmys?
In this edition of the Emmys, HBO comedy-drama series Succession leads the way with 27 nominations. The Last of Us and The White Lotus, both also from HBO/Max, are the second and third most-nominated series, amassing 24 and 23 mentions respectively. Dark comedy-drama The White Lotus was the biggest winner at 2022 gala, winning 10 awards.
There are Emmy Awards up for grabs in 26 different categories and we have selected who we think will be walking away with gongs in their highest-profile ones. Due to Succession’s popularity in 2023 and beyond, lead stars Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook have been tipped to take the individual prizes for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Drama Series.
