Every year, just before the Oscars, the winners of the Golden Raspberry Awards are announced, popularly known as the Razzie Awards or the ‘anti-Oscars’, which “recognize” the worst films and performances of the year.

This year’s Razzie nominees were dominated by several films, as Borderlands, Joker: Folie a Deux, Madame Web, Megalopolis & Reagan each earned six nominations, including the Worst Picture category. Meanwhile, Unfrosted earned four nominations and The Crow earned two.

As for the winners, just as the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences vote on the Oscars, the winners of the Golden Raspberries are chosen by the members of the Razzies. While joining the Academy requires an invitation from the board of directors of the organization, membership in the Razzies requires only a fee of about $40.

Unlike the Oscars, the Razzies do not award technical awards and only have nine categories, including worst picture, worst actor, worst actress, worst supporting actor, worst supporting actress, worst director, worst on-screen combo, worst prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel and worst screenplay.
