AC/DC announce 2025 North American tour dates: Cities, stadiums, band’s current lineup
Tickets for the 2025 Power Up tour, in which the Aussie rockers will play 13 shows, go on sale this week. Here’s all you need to know.
Australian rock AC/DC have added run of US shows to their Power Up world tour having completed the European leg at Dublin’s Croke Park in front of 82,000 fans back in August.
It’s the first time that the band have gone on the road since the Rock or Bust Tour in 2015-16, which grossed a total of $221.1 million from 88 shows.
The PWR UP Tour was organized to promote the group’s 17th studio album although from what we have seen so far, only a couple of songs off it actually feature in the set - Demon Fire and Shot in the Dark. The rest of the 21-song set comprises a run-through of the old favorites: Let There Be Rock, Whole Lotta Rosie, Back in Black, Highway to Hell... etc which is good news for fans who want to hear the classics.
AC/DC lineup for the 2025 Power Up tour
The band have undergone several lineup changes over the years - rhythm guitarist and original member Malcolm Young passed away from dementia in 2017; bass player Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd - both members of the famous Back in Black lineup were recruited for the Rock or Bust Tour but have since departed. Williams has retired while Rudd opted out of the tour to look after his partner who is battling illness.
Two American session men have been drafted in as the band’s touring rhythm section: Chris Chaney, formerly of Jane’s Addiction, who has played bass for just about everyone - Joe Satriani,Shakira, Alanis Morissette, Bryan Adams, Cher, John Fogerty, Meat Loaf... and drummer Matt Laug, who has worked extensively with Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper and Slash’s Snakepit among others.
The classic members Angus Young (lead guitar) and vocalist Brian Johnson, who replaced Bon Scott in 1980 plus Stevie Young (Malcolm’s nephew) complete the full AC/DC lineup for the Power Up tour.
Tickets for the 13-date US leg of the 2025 Power Up tour will go on sale this Friday 6 December at 12:00 noon and can be bought online through Ticketmaster. A maximum of four tickets can be purchased by account holders.
As of the moment, there are no details about ticket prices yet but prepare to pay top dollar as Ticketmaster will be employing their dynamic pricing practice which means prices will fluctuate according to demand.
For example, in the Europe leg of the tour, the cheapest standing tickets were priced at around 86 euros (90 dollars) but ranged up to 335 euros (352 dollars).
