While English singer Adele has just completed the last of 34 scheduled shows for her Las Vegas residency, the ‘Someone Like You’ singer has announced that her residency will be extended throughout 2023.

Adding to the news, the singer said that the new shows will be filmed and compiled into a concert film for fans unable to attend the newly added shows in person.

New dates for the extended residency

Playing to 4,000 people for 34 nights is not enough, and I know that, so I am coming back,” the singer said during what was originally her last show on Saturday, appearing to be on the verge of tears.

“I’ll be back for a few weeks in June, and I’m going to film it, and I’m going to release it to make sure that anyone who wants to see [the show] can see the show,” she said of the upcoming concert film.

“Then I’ll be back from the summer back in August until the end of fall.”

The first of these new shows will take off on June 16 and fans are now able to register for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan in order to secure early tickets for the new shows. Registration for Verified Fan is open until Sunday, April 2 at 11:59 P.M. PT.

The new shows will include 34 new dates, doubling the total number of shows the singer has completed for her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The new set of dates is scheduled to end on November 4.

Adele’s Las Vegas Residency almost didn’t happen

Adele first announced her Las Vegas residency in 2021 which was meant to begin in January 2022. At the last minute, she canceled the shows because they weren’t up to her standards.

There was just no soul in it,” the ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ singer told Elle while reflecting on her decision to cancel the residency two days before it was set to begin.

“The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.”

She went into detail, saying that something in the original setup didn’t allow her to feel connected with the audience. While she was aware she had upset fans, she stood by her decision to cancel.

“I was embarrassed. But it actually made my confidence in myself grow, because it was a very brave thing to do. And I don’t think many people would have done what I did. I’m very proud of myself for standing by my artistic needs.”
