Ana de Armas opened up about doing her own stunts in the movie ‘Ghosted’ alongside co-star, the action-star Chris Evans, admitting that while she does her own stunts, she’s “not at Tom Cruise level yet”.

But de Armas still took on the challenge and appreciated just how much work goes into performing your own stunts.

The fun of stunt performing

“I was preparing for at least a couple of months before we started filming, and the more you do, the more they see you’re capable of doing and the more they ask you to stay on set and ask you to finish the scene,” she told USA Today.

And despite admitting that she got more bumps and bruises than she wanted to, de Armas says she still would rather do her own stunts.

“Part of the reason why you do action is because of how fun it is to do it, so if I just show up there to say my lines and then someone else does the action for me, I’m missing actually all the fun.

“It’s demanding and painful and your body is hurting everywhere, but it’s also very rewarding as I saw myself getting better at it,” she added.

De Armas is no stranger to stunt training. Before ‘Ghosted’, she starred in the 2022 movie ‘Gray Man’ with Evans, and put in the work to perform her own stunts, sharing clips on Instagram.

Then, for the James Bond film ‘No Time to Die’, where she played the small role of ‘Paloma’, the actress again took on the action herself.

De Armas has a growing admiration for actors such as Tom Cruise who are known for their action roles and performing stunts, but jokes that she’s “not at a Tom Cruise level yet. But I can appreciate what he does 100% now, and I totally get why he does it. He’s so mind-blowing.”
