Ana de Armas wants Paul Mescal to be the next James Bond

Ana de Armas certainly knows what her choice would be if she was the casting director for the next Bond movie.

Ana de Armas certainly knows what her choice would be if she was the casting director for the next Bond movie.

The ‘No Time to Die’ Star, Ana de Armas, has weighed in on her opinion about who should play the next star in the newest 007 film. It seems quite fitting that the last Bond girl, she’s one if there’s any, should make the selection for the next movie.

Ana de Armas previously portrayed Bond girl Paloma in the James Bond film ‘No Time to Die,’ which was released in 2021. Armas shared alongside Daniel Craig and Rami Malek.

Her choice for the next James Bond

CIA agent Paloma may be gone, but Ana knows exactly who she would choose.

“Do you have someone you’d want to be the next Bond?” an interviewer for Wired asked de Armas and her co-star Chris Evans in a recent video.

“I’ll do it,” Evans answered.

When de Armas wondered if he was serious, he replied, “I thought you were going to say the next Bond girl. The joke would’ve been funnier then. Then you just said Bond.”

“I think Paul Mescal should be the one.” Evans is “a big Aaron Taylor-Johnson guy,” but conceded Mescal is “great.” says Ana when offering her choice.

The problem is, Mescal, age 27, is too young for the role.

James Bond producer Michael G. Wilson said, “We’ve tried looking at younger people in the past. But trying to visualize it doesn’t work. Remember, Bond’s already a veteran.”

“He’s had some experience. He’s a person who has been through the wars, so to speak. He’s probably been in the SAS or something. He isn’t some kid out of high school that you can bring in and start off. That’s why it works for a thirty-something.”

What’s next for the ‘No Time to Die’ star

Ana de Armas can currently be seen starring alongside Chris Evans in Ghosted, a romantic action comedy that debuted on Apple TV+ today.

The film follows salt-of-the-earth Cole (Evans) as he falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (Armas) — but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world.
