Mod Sun and Avril Lavigne have reportedly called off their engagement after Lavigne was spotted on a rumored date.
Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne has called off her engagement to American singer Mod Sun. Sources close to the former couple claim the two were “on and off” again over the last few months while trying to make things work.
The couple has called off the engagement and has ended the relationship entirely. It’s unclear what exactly led to the split, but according to sources for TMZ, there was no cheating on either side.
Relationship History
The couple got engaged in late March 2022, just after over a year of dating. The two were first linked in February 2021, when they were spotted leaving dinner together at a Steakhouse in Los Angeles.
Although the source tells TMZ the pair is officially over, Mod Sun’s rep gave an official statement to TMZ.
“They were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him,” his rep said today.
The two were last seen together at the pre-Grammy Gala earlier this month, and were photographed with various other celebrity guests.
The pair had also been spotted on double dates with Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, who recently have been in the news for suspected relationship troubles.
Lavigne has had several significant relationships in the past. She was married to Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger before they divorced in 2015. She was also married to Sum 41′s Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2009.
Outing with Tyga
The news of the breakup comes shortly after the singer made headlines for being spotted out to dinner with rapper Tyga. The duo were also accompanied by a group of friends.
The pair were spotted leaving the Japanese restaurant Nobu Malibu. They were seen hugging before leaving in the same car. A source close to the two tells TMZ that they have been hanging out a lot together lately, but it’s still unclear if there is anything romantic happening.
Tyga has been reportedly single since late 2021, with his last relationship being with fashion designer and influencer Camaryn Swanson. He also dated Kylie Jenner from 2014 to 2018.
However, Lavigne has yet to release an official statement regarding her broken engagement or recent outing with Tyga.
