Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting engaged?
Gossip outlet Page Six reports that wedding bells are in store for Swift and Kelce, with a summer engagement in the offing.
Pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce are planning to get engaged later this year, according to a report in the celebrity news outlet Page Six.
Swift-Kelce engagement this summer?
“Taylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan,” a source has told the publication. “They will get engaged on their one-year anniversary in July.”
The insider added that the high-profile couple even considered the possibility of Kelce getting down on one knee over the Christmas holidays, but decided against it as “they don’t want it to seem like it’s rushed insanity.”
For that reason, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end won’t be popping the question on Valentine’s Day next month, either.
Swift-Kelce: a timeline
Rumours of romance between Swift and Kelce first surfaced in September, when the latter revealed on the Pat McAfee Show that he had invited the singer-songwriter to watch him play for the Chiefs.
Swift was then seen in the stands at Kansas City’s win over the Chicago Bears - the first of several Chiefs games that she has been to. Afterwards, the pair were spotted leaving Arrowhead Stadium and attending a party together.
However, Swift later revealed that their relationship began earlier than that; when the Bears-Chiefs game came around, they were already established as boyfriend and girlfriend.
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” the 12-time Grammy winner told an interview with Time magazine in December, after being named the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2023.
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”
In mid-October, Swift and Kelce made their debut as an official item when they stepped out together at a Saturday Night Live afterparty. The following month, Kelce flew out to Buenos Aires to join Swift on the latest leg of her Eras Tour; in Argentina, their first public kiss was caught on camera.
Having spent Christmas by each other’s side, they rang in 2024 together at a New Year’s Eve party in Kansas City, with the lovebirds again captured enjoying a passionate kiss.
