After Jamie Foxx’s recent medical emergency and hospitalization, his upcoming Netflix movie ‘Back in Action’ with Cameron Diaz, had to cancel a day of shooting as the crew reconfigured their schedule.

Shooting was canceled on Wednesday, resuming on Thursday with a stand-in for Foxx as he recovers from his medical scare.

Multiple shooting days canceled

According to sources at People, after the news of Foxx’s hospitalization on Tuesday came out, Wednesday’s scheduled shooting was canceled, and resumed today, Thursday.

A casting director emailed extras that another scene that was to be filmed on Sunday was also canceled. It was not rescheduled, but scenes set for shooting on Monday and Tuesday are still going ahead.

On Wednesday, Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx issued a statement saying that her father was recovering and that the family requested privacy during this time.

Another source told People, on Thursday, that the actor, 55, is stable.

Another setback for ‘Back in Action’

In March, a theft plot was uncovered on the set of ‘Back in Action’, with Foxx as the unfortunate victim. Allegedly, members of staff were arrested for plotting to steal $55,000 from the actor. An executive producer, two directors, and Foxx’s personal driver were all fired as a result.

The film’s earlier shooting schedule in England also faced delays due to weather, before moving to Atlanta on March 27. Shooting in Atlanta was expected to wrap on April 19. With the recent cancellations, it’s uncertain if this will hold true.

‘Back in Action’ is set to be Cameron Diaz’s return to Hollywood after a decade of absence

Cameron Diaz is making her comeback after a decade of absence from the film industry with ‘Back in Action’ after encouragement from Foxx.

Foxx announced Diaz’s involvement in the film in a tweet last June, sharing audio from a conversation between him and Diaz, with retired quarterback Tom Brady offering words of encouragement.

The movie is Diaz’s first film following her unofficial retirement from acting when she starred in her last film ‘Annie’, playing Miss Colleen Hannigan.

She has spent the years focusing on her family, husband Benji Madden, and daughter Raddix Madden, born in 2019.
