Bad Bunny made a surprise appearance at tonight’s WrestleMania 39.

The Puerto Rican wasn’t previously announced for the event, but he made his way down to the ring and joined the Spanish commentary team for the match between Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio.

He wasn’t the only celebrity to play a role in the match. Snoop Dogg drove Rey Mysterio out to the stage in a lowrider before the start of the match.

Bad Bunny made his debut at WrestleMania 37 back in 2021, and is also set to host WWE ‘Backlash’ on May 6, live from his native country of Puerto Rico, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.

The event is the first WWE pay-per-view event to be held in Puerto Rico since 2005, when the New Year’s Revolution took place, and also featured the Elimination Chamber.

“In 2005 when I was a kid, I wasn’t able to attend New Year’s Revolution at El Coliseo,” Bad Bunny said in a statement. “Finally, 18 years later WWE returns to the island with a massive event and this time I won’t miss it.”

“We’re excited to bring Backlash to San Juan as the demand for WWE premium live events outside of the continental United States continues to grow,” said WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

“Bad Bunny is one of the world’s most popular entertainers, and nowhere is that more evident than in his native Puerto Rico.”

Bad Bunny at Wrestlemania 39

Bad Bunny provided Spanish commentary at Wrestlemania 39 during the match between Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio, in a surprise gig for fans, both of his music and his wrestling skills.

The singer didn’t just provide commentary for the match however. Just when it looked as though Dominik was going to defeat his father with the help fo the chain, Bad Bunny got involved.

He snatched the chain from the youngster, opening the door for Rey to fight back, deliver the 619, and win the match.

Given his participation in the contest, fans will have have to stay tuned to see whether it leads to anything at WWE’s next PPV event, Backlash, which takes place in Puerto Rico next month.

Bad Bunny’s previous appearances at WWE events

After his WWE debut in 2021 at Wrestlemania 37, where he fought alongside Damian Priest, defeating The Miz and John Morrison, Bad Bunny also made a surprise appearance in 2022, making a brief appearance at the men’s Royal Rumble match.

In that match, he eliminated both Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus.

Bad Bunny has also made his first appearance in the WWE video games, becoming a playable character in the WWE 2K23 Roster.

He is a DLC character and was included as a perk for fans who pre-ordered the game, which was released on March 17. The game is playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
