Bad Bunny, record-breaker at the 2025 Latin Music Awards
The Puerto Rican star has already broken the record for most nominations and could surpass Ozuna for wins at this week’s event.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards will be held on Thursday, 23 October in Miami, Florida.
Some of the biggest names in the music industry will be present at the ceremony, the culmination of Latin Music Week 2025. This year, however, much of the focus will be on one global star.
For this year’s edition Bad Bunny broke the Latin Music Awards nominations record, picking up 27 mentions. The previous single-year record was 22 and was also set by the Puerto Rican star.
Bad Bunny can dethrone Ozuna
In 2021, Bad Bunny managed to rack up a total of 10 wins at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, including the night’s biggest category, Artist of the Year.
The current record for most awards won in a single night belongs to Ozuna, who took home 11 statuettes in 2019. However, that could change in just a few days if Bad Bunny can convert some of those 27 nominations into wins.
In addition to Ozuna’s record, Bad Bunny could also dethrone Enrique Iglesias as the Hispanic male with the most Billboard Awards in the history of the awards show. Iglesias has recorded 48 award wins, while Bad BUnny is on 36. Bad Bunny’s success has been so great that he will also be honored with a very special award at this year’s ceremony, as he is named Billboard Latin Artist of the 21st Century.
