Bad Bunny’s name keeps popping up in the news rounds, namely for his continuing relationship with Kardashian family member Kendall Jenner, which neither party has confirmed nor denied.

While the Puerto Rican rapper refused to comment on the supposed relationship between the two, he has opened up about other intimate moments, namely his recent onscreen kiss with Mexican actor Gael García Bernal’s character Cassandro in the 2023 movie ‘Cassandro.’

In the movie, he plays Felipe, who shares a kiss with Cassandro. Bad Bunny shares his thoughts about the scene and his thoughts on acting since the experience.

How did he feel about the kiss?

“My first kiss for a movie and it was with a man,” the Puerto Rican rapper, 29, said of the scene while laughing in his latest cover story with Time Magazine.

“That’s the penalty I get for being with so many women during my life,” he joked.

The role is one of his few movie roles after he appeared in four episodes of the Netflix series ‘Narcos: Mexico’ where he played Arturo “Kitty” Páez, a high-ranking member of the Tijuana cartel in the show. He also appeared in the 2022 movie ‘Bullet Train’ playing The Wolf, a Mexican assassin.

In ‘Cassandro’ he took his role seriously, understanding that it was a job and treating it as such. This mentality is why he was comfortable kissing García Bernal in the movie.

“If you’re acting, you’re being someone you’re not,” he said. “So when they asked me for that, I said, ‘Yes, I’m here for whatever you want.’ I think it was very cool; I didn’t feel uncomfortable.

Bad Bunny breaking away from Machismo

Bad Bunny is one of the few male reggaeton stars who are breaking away from the traditional “machismo” mentality that has driven the genre for decades. In the music video for the song ‘Yo Perreo Sola’ (I Twerk Alone) from his 2020 album “YHLQMDLG’, he dressed in drag. The song is about women having fun at the club by themselves without men.

His onscreen kiss in ‘Cassandro’ also isn’t the first time the ‘Me Porto Bonito’ artist has shared a kiss with another man. He once kissed one of his male backup dancers onstage while performing at Yankee Stadium during the MTV Video Music Awards last August during the song ‘Tití Me Preguntó.’

“I think that sex is a giant world, and everyone is free to see it as they want and do it with whoever they want, however, they want, with infinite possibilities,” he said in a 2020 interview with Playboy.

“In the end, we are human beings. Everybody feels, everybody falls in love with whoever they’re meant to.”

He also used an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ to bring attention to the murder of a Puerto Rican transgender woman in 2020, wearing a shirt that said “They Killed Alexa, Not a Man in a Skirt” translated from the Spanish.
