Bad Bunny to receive special recognition at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony
Bad Bunny is the artist of the moment. After a record-breaking residency in his native Puerto Rico and being announced as the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, the “Tití Me Preguntó” singer is about to make history once again – this time at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will take place this Thursday, October 23, at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida.
This year, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, leads the nominations with a staggering 27 mentions, setting a new record as the artist with the most nominations in a single edition of the awards. The previous record – 22 nominations – also belonged to him.
Throughout his career, Bad Bunny has already won more than 30 Billboard Latin Music Awards. However, if his winning streak continues on Thursday night, the Bayamón native could become the male artist with the most Billboard Latin trophies in history. That record currently belongs to Enrique Iglesias, who holds a total of 48 awards.

Beyond his commercial success, Bad Bunny has become a cultural symbol and a leading voice for Latin music. His work has consistently addressed social and political themes – from gentrification and environmental exploitation to the impact of foreign influence – as seen in tracks like “El Apagón” and “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawái.”
Because of his undeniable impact, Bad Bunny will receive the special award for 21st Century Latin Artist at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards.
The tribute – along with the rest of the ceremony – will be broadcast live on Telemundo, and available for streaming on Peacock and the Telemundo app, starting at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT. The event will be hosted by Goyo and Javier Poza.
