After putting the mansion he shared with Jennifer Lopez up for sale, Ben Affleck has reportedly purchased a new home in Los Angeles.
Ben Affleck has reportedly bought his own Los Angeles mansion, as the Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker seemingly heads for divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Real estate sources have told TMZ that Affleck has now closed escrow on a $20.5 million pad in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.
According to the celebrity gossip outlet, the home boasts five bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as amenities including a multimedia room and a guest house.
Affleck and Lopez’s shared home up for sale
Meanwhile, the Beverly Hills mansion bought by Affleck and Lopez in June last year has been put on the market, with a reported asking price of $68 million.
At the end of June, widespread reports stated that Affleck had moved his belongings out of the home while Lopez was away in Italy. ‘JLo’, an actor and Grammy-nominated singer, is currently house-hunting, TMZ says.
When did Lopez-Affleck divorce rumours start?
Rumours of strife in the Lopez-Affleck marriage first surfaced this spring, after the A-list couple were not seen together in public for over a month.
In the wake of reports that Affleck had removed his belongings from their shared mansion, speculation of imminent divorce intensified yet further when the pair did not spend their second wedding anniversary together on July 16.
Per Page Six, Lopez - who has been in New York since returning from Italy a few weeks ago - was seen out and about in the Hamptons with her former manager Benny Medina. Meanwhile, Affleck remained in LA.
What’s more, Affleck was not in attendance at Lopez’s Bridgerton-themed birthday party in the Hamptons earlier this week, as his wife celebrated turning 55.
What are the reasons for star couple’s problems?
Neither Lopez nor Affleck has publicly addressed their apparent marital issues. However, a source has told People magazine that the problems have not been caused by Lopez’s superstar level of fame.
“The idea that Ben thinks Jennifer is too famous and that he didn’t know what he was getting into with the attention on their marriage isn’t true,” the insider said. “There are deeper issues.”
