BLACKPINK gives a sneak peek at their new song ‘The Girls’

BLACKPINK is releasing a new single called ‘The Girls’ that will be featured on the upcoming soundtrack of their mobile game ‘BLACKPINK The Game’.

The teaser for the music video featured animated avatars of the girls dancing and singing to the new song in matching black outfits.

“Don’t mess with the girls, with the girls, with the girls,” BLACKPINK sings in the opening lyrics.

‘BLACKPINK The Game’ was released on May 18, but no date for the new single has been released yet.

What is ‘BLACKPINK The Game’?

‘BLACKPINK The Game’ is a new mobile game based on the likeness of BLACKPINK. The game allows players to manage BLACKPINK, produce music, and play other mini-games.

“Become BLACKPINK’s producer and manage your own agency, solve puzzles to clear schedules for BLACKPINK. Customize your members with stunning outfits and play mini-games with your friends in BLACKPINK WORLD,” the game’s official synopsis reads.

A trailer for the game was released on Thursday, offering a better idea of the gameplay of the free-to-play game, which includes a dress-up game, practicing choreography, shooting music videos, and taking selfies of the player’s customized BLACKPINK which can be reposted on social media.

BLACKPINK embarks on the second Asian leg of their ‘Born Pink’ tour

BLACKPINK has just begun the second Asian leg of their ‘Born Pink’ tour, having already hit the city-state Singapore, they will perform in Macau on May 20, before performing two nights in Bangkok, Thailand on May 27 and 28, and another two-night performance in Osaka, Japan on June 3 and 4.

From there, the girl group will travel to Australia, with two nights each in Melbourne and Sydney. After a one-night show in Paris on July 15, they will perform five shows in the United States in August.

A year of firsts for BLACKPINK

The group also recently headlined the 2023 Coachella Music Festival, becoming the first Korean female group to do so, and the second POC female-fronted act to headline the festival, after Beyoncé.

Their second album ‘Born Pink, released in September 2022, made the Guinness World Record for the First K-pop group to reach No.1 on the UK Albums chart, and the First K-pop group to reach No.1 on the US Albums chart (female).
