Brad Pitt sells home shared with Angelina Jolie and family
The actor is letting go of the place he has called home for over two decades.
Brad Pitt is closing out an era, as he sells his $39 million dollar home, the Los Feliz, Los Angeles property where he lived with his former wife, Angelina Jolie, and their six children.
The former couple share 21-year-old Maddox Chivan, 19-year-old Pax Thien, 18-year-old Zahara Marley, Shiloh Nouvel, who is 16 years old, and 14-year-old twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline.
New beginnings for Brad Pitt
The ‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’ actor lived in the home for more than 20 years as he and Jolie raised their children. The mansion was worth a much more modest $1.7 million when he bought it from horror movie actress, Cassandra Peterson, in 1994.
Pitt is changing up his location completely, moving about a five-hour drive from Hollywood. The actor will now reside in Carmel By the Sea, a Northern Californian beach town near San Francisco.
Saying goodbye to the LA home
Brad Pitt’s former home, a secure compound in a gated community, was built in 1910, reportedly by an oil mogul.
The expansive grounds include neighboring properties, as Pitt bought up adjacent lots to grow the property even more, with a 6,700-square-foot mansion with five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
The property also has a significant anecdotal bit of history, as it is the place where iconic rock star Jimmy Hendrix wrote ‘May This Be Love’ in 1967.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met on the set of 2005′s ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ and started dating soon after. Pitt and his previous wife, Jennifer Aniston divorced that same year.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s history
Pitt and Jolie married in 2014 and split in 2017, with Pitt living in the home the entire time.
The former couple has had several legal battles over their children and property ownership, such as their French vineyard, Château Miraval. Jolie has also accused Pitt of domestic abuse.
Pitt is now dating 32-year-old jewelry professional, Ines de Ramon, who recently split from ‘The Vampire Diaries’ star, husband Paul Wesley.
