Britney Spears and Sam Asghari finalize divorce: How many times has the singer been married?
Nine months after Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears, the former couple has reached an agreement.
After 14 months of marriage, Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears in August last year, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending their union.
Nine months later, the former couple has finalized their divorce. According to People, the singer and the actor kept the terms of their prenuptial agreement.
“The divorce was amicable and the prenuptial agreement was not contested,” a source told People. “Britney continues to exercise her freedom and move forward,” the source added.
The divorce agreement divides everything clearly. According to TMZ, Spears will be able to keep her jewelry and personal effects, as well as the earnings she made before and during her marriage thanks to the contract.
This is the third time around for Spears. The singer has been married and divorced three times: first, to her childhood friend Jason Alexander, to whom she was married for a mere 55 hours; then to the father of her two sons, Kevin Federline; and most recently, to music video co-star Asghari.

The brief marriage of Spears and Asghari
Spears and Asghari got engaged in September 2021 after almost five years of dating. Less than a year later, in June 2022, the couple married during a ceremony at the singer's mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, attended by celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Madonna and Selena Gomez.
After 14 months of marriage, Asghari filed for divorce.
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” Asghari wrote in an Instagram story after the news of their separation.
“We will maintain the love and respect we have for each other and I wish you the best always,”he continued.
Asghari added that asking for privacy seemed “ridiculous,” so he only asked that “everyone, including the media, be kind and considerate.”
Spears spoke about the separation through her Instagram account: “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together... 6 years is a long time to be with someone, so I’m a little surprised but... I’m not here to explain why, because it’s honestly nobody’s business! But honestly, I couldn’t take the pain anymore!!!”
“I would love to show my emotions and tears about how I really feel, but for some reason I have always had to hide my weaknesses! [...]So I will be as strong as I can and do my best! And I’m actually doing pretty well! Anyway, have a nice day and don’t forget to smile!” she added.
