Britney Spears changes name after a series of concerning episodes

Britney Spears appeared on Instagram wearing a red tube top with the Coca Cola brand emblazoned on her chest, matching red shorts, and tall white boots.

In the video, Spears is dancing to the song ‘Attention’ by Omah Lay and Justin Bieber while maintaining eye contact with the camera. She has a big grin splashed on her face, but fans are wondering if she really is happy — or if something else is going on.

In an earlier post, now removed from her Instagram, Spears wrote: “I changed my name to River Red !!! Yet the fire is where it illuminates … to stare at it and jump right in with no fear at all !!!!”

Why did Britney change her name?

A series of events led up to the moment Britney Spears changed her name to River Red, and though it’s impossible to know what really caused the decision, her Instagram post gives some insight to what was going on in her mind.

“Either way…” she wrote, “the news of me being tipsy in the news then exploiting my past is a clever way to make me look like a pardoned woman that we can look at and say AWWW !!! My neighborhood friend says I will pay for it the rest of my life !!!”

Although it’s unclear what exactly Spears is referring to, she was involved in an incident at a Woodland Hills restaurant that resulted in husband Sam Asghari storming out as per TMZ. However, an employee at the restaurant says that another patron, not Spears, was to blame.

Another event that appears to be having an impact on Spears is her nostalgia for the past. After she got a tattoo while on vacation in Maui, she reminisced about her once-upon-a-time relationship with Justin Timberlake, her beau from 1999 to 2002, by posting old photos of the pair together.

As for the significance of the name change to River Red, she gave a hint for her audience to chew on, writing: “Pssss different edit of RED !!!!”

Fans express concern for Britney Spears

The star’s fans have expressed concern over her recent public episodes, but most significantly over her strange posts, which are saturated with double-meanings, accusations, and seemingly nonsensical meanings.

Spears wrote: " “I think my ignorant ways of trusting these TRUSTEES might have no where else to look …. not at an ice bowl or to show relevance but maybe MY [—] intertwine real church service versus a blind sighted set up … which one ????”

In response to her posts, fans comment on the popstar’s social media account in what appears to be genuine concern. One fan writes, “So cryptic”, while another asks, “River red ?? Britney honey what’s going on”.
