Cardi B says that fans can expect a lot more from her this summer.

The rapper and entrepreneur has been busy promoting the newest flavor of her vodka-infused whipped cream Whipshots. The limited edition lime flavor was released just in time for the summer, joining the mainstay flavors, vanilla, mocha, and caramel.

Cardi was in Santa Monica on Monday evening to unveil the new flavor and talk about what else she has in store for the summer.

Cardi hints at a new music video in the works

“You guys can expect a lot from me this summer,” Cardi told Rolling Stone in a recent interview, teasing new music. “I promise.”

While Cardi hasn’t released any new solo music since the 2018 release of her debut album, ‘Invasion of Privacy’ she has made numerous guest appearances.

Her biggest hit since her debut album release was 2020’s ‘WAP’ with Megan Thee Stallion. She later released ‘Up’ in 2021, a single from her impending second-album.

She then appeared on the remix of GloRilla’s song ‘Tomorrow’ titled ‘Tomorrow 2′. And before that, she lent her vocals to the extended version of the Summer Walker and SZA song ‘No Love’.

Most recently, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper appeared in the remix of Rosalía’s song ‘Despechá’.

At the Santa Monica event, Cardi mixed drinks alongside drag superstars Violet Chachki and Gottmik. She took the opportunity to ask the two, who are frequently spotted together, for one favor.

“Can I ask you guys something?” Cardi asked Chachki and Gottmik. “Can you guys direct my music video?” hinting at her future music release.

“Bi—, I would pay you to direct it!” Chachki exclaimed. “That would be my dream job!”

“I love you guys,” Cardi added. “You guys are so creative, so amazing. And I really want you to direct my music video.”

Her love of Whipshots

In her interview, Cardi likened both making new flavors of Whipshots and making music to “watching a baby grow.”

“You’re just watching and experiencing and putting your input into things to make sure it’s something you like.”

And working on Whipshots is definitely a work of love.

“A lot of people wanted me to do spirits, and I just told them that this is the lane for me,” she explained.

“It’s super sexy, it’s super creative, and I actually like the product — I think it’s delicious.”
