Celebrities appearing in Super Bowl LVII commercials
Numerous celebrities and companies have already released teasers of cameo appearances for Super Bowl LVII commercials.
Get ready for a star-studded Super Bowl with celebrities like Alicia Silverstone, Serena Williams, Brian Cox, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and more are set to appear in commercials throughout the evening.
The Super Bowl will be broadcast live from Arizona on Sunday, February 12 at 6:30pm EST, and sees the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to the NFL, last year’s big game attracted more than 208 million viewers, making it premium ad space for corporations. The cost for a Super Bowl prime time ad comes at a huge premium, with 30 seconds of airtime costing $7 million.
Alicia Silverstone reprises ‘Clueless’ character
Alicia Silverstone, who famously played Cher Horowitz in the 90s classic, ‘Clueless’, released a teaser video on her Instagram stories. The video shows Silverstone in character, sporting the legendary blazer and skirt set in yellow plaid, appearing in a school classroom.
“Don’t bug, your girl is back,” the 46-year-old says in the video.
Supergrass’ hit song ‘Alright’ then plays before the Rakuten log appears..
“It looks like the cat is out of the designer handbag,” the actress wrote in the caption.
‘Caddyshack’ revisited
The biggest all-star cast goes to Michelob Ultra. In a throwback to the famous movie ‘Caddyshack’, set in the iconic Bushwood Country Club, the commercial features Serena Williams and Brian Cox.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Cox said that he found the prospect of playing golf with Serena Williams to be an intimidating one.
“Then they told me I would, I was gonna be playing golf with Serena Williams, which was a very daunting aspect,” he said.
“And I am not really a very sporting type at all. And she is probably the finest female athlete in the world, you know? And so that was daunting.”
‘Breaking Bad’ stars reunite
Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are joining forces, reprising their roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman for PopCorners.
‘Breaking Bad’ creator Vince Gilligan will write and direct the ad, which shows the duo cooking a batch of the air-popped snacks in their iconic RV.
Joining them is Tuco Salamanca, played by Raymond Cruz, who ends the spot by letting the duo know: “We’re going to eat a lot of snacks together.”
