Although late pregnancy comes with some complications, that hasn’t stopped plenty of celebrities from having children after their 40s.

Rapper Da Brat announced she, along with wife Jesseca ‘Judy’ Harris-Dupart, are expecting a baby. The rapper is 48, and said she thought she wasn’t never going to have kids.

“I never thought I was going to have kids,” she said. “I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me. I’ve had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn’t get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn’t going to happen for me.”

Here’s a look at some other celebrities who opted to have children after they hit their 40s.

The Oscar-winner had her second child at the age of 47 with actor Olivier Martinez. She also has daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry, from a previous relationship with model Gabriel Aubry.

Brigitte Nielsen

Back in May 2018, the then-54-year-old actress announced she was pregnant for the fifth time.

“Family getting larger #me #family #brigittenielsen #babybump,” Nielsen captioned her Instagram post.

Janet Jackson

Back in January 2017, Jackson gave birth to son Eissa with ex-husband Wissam Al Mana at the age of 50.

Rumors had began to swirl back in April 2016, when Jackson announced she was cancelling her Unbroken tour.
