Chris Evans and Ana de Armas join forces yet again in new movie ‘Ghosted’
The trailer for ‘Ghosted’ is finally here and Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ on-screen chemistry continues.
The ‘Knives Out’ costars Chris Evans and Ana de Armas reunite for Apple TV+’s romantic action comedy ‘Ghosted.”
The trailer, which was released Monday, March 6, showcases Chris Evans as a damsel in distress in need of saving from a spy (Ana de Armas) as he attempts to win her over for a second date.
The plot
The plot, which was kept quiet, has been revealed in the trailer. Chris Evans’ character Cole Riggan asks Ana de Armas’ character Sadie on a date. Soon after Sadie ‘ghosts’ Cole leaving him wondering what went wrong.
In an attempt to win Sadie over, Cole travels to London to find Sadie in a grand romantic gesture, where he is promptly kidnapped and in need of Sadie’s help. The film follows the two’s developing relationship as they work their way through trouble.
Joining Evans and de Armas are Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Tim Blake Nelson, Marwan Kenzari, Anna Deavere Smith, Lizze Broadway, Mustafa Shakir, Tiya Sircar, Amy Sedaris, Tate Donovan and Burn Gorman.
Original casting
Originally ‘Ghosted’ had Scarlett Johansson cast in the role of Sadie but the actress had to exit the film due to scheduling issues, leading to Ana de Armas being cast. According to IMDb Johansson has 5 upcoming projects she is working on.
‘Ghosted” will be directed by Dexter Fletcher who is best known for his biopic work. Fletcher directed both ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Rocketman’ the following year.
The movie is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who previously worked together for the 2009 horror comedy ‘Zombieland,’ and on Marvel’s ‘Deadpool’ in 2016. Reese and Wernick also wrote the sequels for both movies and are attached to the upcoming third sequel of the ‘Deadpool’ series.
Ana de Armas and Chris Evans worked together in the 2019 mystery film ‘Knives Out,’ which followed the investigation of the death of a patriarch of an eccentric, and combative family.
The two also starred in the 2022 action thriller ‘The Gray Man,’ which followed the story of a CIA operative accidentally uncovering dark agency secrets.
‘Ghosted’ will be available to stream on Apple TV+ on April 21, 2023.
