Daniel Radcliffe and longtime girlfriend Erin Darke welcome first baby

The private couple have officially become parents.

Update:
The private couple have officially become parents.

Daniel Radcliffe and longtime partner Erin Darke have welcomed their first baby together, as per representatives for the actor. The news of Darke’s pregnancy was revealed to the public just a month prior.

The new family of three was spotted for the first time while out on a stroll together in New York City on Monday, April 24. In the photos, Radcliffe can be seen pushing a covered stroller alongside Darke.

The new baby

The couple tends to stay out of the spotlight, keeping their relationship details under wraps. As of now, it’s unclear when exactly the new baby was born or any details regarding the child’s name or gender.

However, a source close to the couple revealed in March that they are “absolutely thrilled” to become parents. The couple has been together for over a decade now.

Their relationship history

Darke and Radcliffe initially met when they sparked a romance on the set of their film ‘Kill Your Darlings’ in 2012. Radcliffe told Parade in 2014 that he and Darke “just got on immediately.”

“It was one of those instant things where you’re like, ‘Oh, I really like this person,’” he shared. “You just have a connection with somebody, and then suddenly it’s incredibly easy to talk to them. It was one of those sort of situations.”

“There’s just been an ease in conversation, a relaxed quality to it,” he added. “I’m not a very chilled-out person a lot of the time. But there’s a relaxed quality to our conversation. There’s no effort in it. It’s totally flowing. It’s a wonderful thing.”

Little is known about the couple as they keep their relationship out of the public eye. Radcliffe and Darke opened up about how fame can make a relationship tricky and how they avoid issues in a 2020 joint interview with Vulture.

“Dating a famous person teaches you very quickly that s–t is weird sometimes. People are weird with fame sometimes,” Darke explained.

“We’re at the point now where I’ve seen my own wedding reported several times. You do start to dismiss things you read about your partner if you’re pretty sure they’re not true.”

She continued, laughing, “We’re boring to [the paparazzi]. Ninety percent of the paparazzi photos of us are getting coffee. … Or going to the grocery store. We’ve been photographed twice waiting for an Uber. Dan is not the most exciting celebrity.”
