‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ raked in nearly $100 million on its first day in theaters in the United States alone. The star-studded cast, which includes Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, is just the beginning.

Chris Evans, Channing Tatum, Henry Cavil, and Jennifer Garner are among the cast featured in the highly anticipated Marvel movie. However, those at the top of the credit screen, Reynolds and Jackman, were the highest-paid stars on set.

The movie, plus the promotion, is estimated to have reached $300 million, meaning that will the success of opening weekend, the studio can expect to re-coup their investment.

Looking at their past paychecks

The Things, an online entertainment outlet, reported that for Deadpool and Deadpool II, Reynolds was paid $22 and between $30 and $40 million, respectively.

On the other hand, when Hugh Jackman was first cast as Wolverine, he was only paid $500,000 in 2000, reports The Things. The role was one of the first that raised Jackman’s profile in Hollywood, helping him launch to stardom (and higher paychecks). In the subsequent films, Jackman’s salary would increase to around $20 million.

Based on the previous paychecks given to the two actors, The Thing, estimates that each actor are likely being paid $20 million to appear in the third Deadpool movie.
