Demi Lovato and other musical guests to appear on ‘Scream VI’ soundtrack
The ‘This Is Me’ singer and other musical guests are joining the franchise with new music
Demi Lovato recently released a new single for the upcoming ‘Scream VI’ soundtrack entitled ‘Still Alive’. A music video for the song, including scenes from the movie and Lovato being chased by Ghostface throughout New York City can be seen.
Lovato joins a host of artists who have contributed music to the movie franchise since 1996 when the original film was released. The singer is joined by Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, who co-wrote the song and briefly appeared in the music video.
Demi Lovato and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda teamed up for ‘Still Alive’
“I couldn’t think of a more perfect home for ‘Still Alive’ than within the Scream universe,” the ‘Cool for the Summer’ singer said in a press release.
“I’m a huge fan of the films, so it’s an honor to contribute to such an iconic horror franchise.”
Co-writer, Mike Shinoda, also has his own song coming out for the movie.
“Up until this year, I’ve been doing a lot of writing and producing for other people. And I recently kind of got the bug to do it for myself again,” the musician said in an interview with KROQ.
“I do have a new song that’s gonna be in the movie Scream. What happened is they had reached out about: ‘Will you help us with music for the movie?’ And in the conversation, I played them something and they were like, ‘Oh my god, can we use that?’”
Shinoda’s song has yet to be named.
Sven Faulconer joins the ‘Scream’ composers
Music composer Sven Faulconer is also slated to join ‘Scream’ (2022) soundtrack composer Brian Tyler in creating the score for ‘Scream VI’. Brian Tyler is the second composer since Marco Beltrami, who’s worked on the franchise since 1996′s ‘Scream’, to provide music for the franchise, with Faulconer now becoming the third.
Although the official soundtrack track list has yet to be revealed, it’s presumed that Nick Cave & the Bad Seed’s song ‘Red Right Hand’ which has appeared on the soundtrack of every ‘Scream’ film except for ‘Scream 4′, will also make an appearance.
When to watch ‘Scream VI’
