After confirming she was working on new music, Selena Gomez surprised fans with a comment on a fan page Instagram account, suggesting that she’s considering going on tour again either this year or next.

The Instagram account @selenatorslatinas posted two photos of Selena Gomez performing on one of her past tours along with the caption “Selena Gomez on tour (part 1).”

Gomez surprised fans by commenting on the post, replying with, “Can’t wait for tour” and “Should I go this year or next? Feel like I should wait” in another comment.

Selena Gomez’ last tour came in 2016 for her second solo studio album ‘Revival,’ meaning this will be the singer’s first tour in seven or eight years depending on the start date.

New music from the singer

The singer’s latest release was the single ‘My Mind & Me,’ which was produced to accompany her intimate documentary by the same title. Both were released in late 2022.

However, the singer’s last album ‘Rare’ was released in 2020 and had no accompanying tour. The ‘Revival’ tour was also cut short after 55 shows due to Gomez’s health struggles and battle with Lupus.

Earlier this year Gomez teased new music might be on the way. Replying to a fan comment on her Instagram post asking “Where is the album” Gomez responded with “Oh, it’s coming.”

Even earlier, in a podcast interview last year, the singer confirmed she is working on new music and an accompanying tour is a possibility.

“I am in L.A. working on my album now,” the singer revealed after being asked what’s next for her on the ‘Deadline Crew Call’ podcast.

“I’m open to a tour, one thousand percent, but I obviously have obligations and things I wanna do, so when the time’s right. It’s not the top of my priority list.”

In the meantime, Gomez has been focusing on her acting career. Her most recent work is with Hulu’s mystery comedy series ‘Only Murders in the Building’ which premiered in August 2021.

Filming for Season 3 of the series began in January of this year. Gomez is also set to start in the psychological thriller ‘Spiral,’ which will be directed by Petra Collins. A release date is yet to be announced.
