Taylor Swift performed the first of three shows at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Friday night, with one part of the show attracting much attention on social media.

Did Taylor Swift drop a Joe Alwyn Easter egg during ‘Eras Tour’ show?

Swift was joined on stage by backup dancers while performing her 2017 hit, ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, for the sold-out crowd.

The dancers, dressed up in old outfits Swift has worn over the years, plead to get out of the glass boxes they find themselves in.

It’s Swift’s interaction with her ‘Lover’ dancer on Friday that has sent fans on social media into a frenzy.

The singer made her way to the dancer, dressed in pink fur for the ‘You Need to Calm Down’ video, and formed the letter “L” with her fingers above her forehead. The gesture is commonly interpreted as being used for the word “loser”.

While Swift didn’t add anything to the gesture, or even comment on it, the song is one of the tracks featured on her 2019 album, ‘Lover’.

The album features several tracks about her relationship with Joe Alwyn, with fans wondering if the gesture hinted at her feelings following news of their breakup.

Swift’s surprise songs add fuel to the fire

As she’s done throughout the ‘Eras Tour’, Swift performed two more surprise songs for those in attendance.

The first was ‘Wonderland’ from her 2014 album ‘1989′.

“I don’t know why, but I really wanted to play this one tonight. I haven’t played it in a long time,” Swift said while introducing the song.

“I kind of based it off of – sort of a twisted ‘Alice in Wonderland’ kind of vibe.”

The second was ‘You’re Not Sorry’, a breakup ballad, from her 2008 album ‘Fearless’.

The two song choices, along with her “L” gesture, had fans speculating over what it all meant.

“‘WONDERLAND’ AND ‘YOU’RE NOT SORRY’ AND ‘LOVER’ IS A LOSER!? GIRL, SHE IS ANGRY AND PETTY TONIGHT! (and we love it ),” wrote one fan.

“The way she did the L sign and stood there singing “I got a list of names and yours is in red underlined,” added another fan.

“What do we think actually happened with taylor swift and joe alwyn because at first I thought it was mutual but now I’m seeing she’s taking her friends out one by one in nyc and after they all unfollowed him on instagram and she basically called lover a loser last night,” wrote another fan.
