The “Shake It Off” singer dated the English actor for six years, with recent reports claiming they tied the knot.
Rumours that Taylor Swift secretly married ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn have been denied by the pop superstar’s publicist Tree Paine, who took to X to dismiss the claims made by DeuxMoi, a popular culture Instagram account that posts celebrity rumours and gossip from a variety of sources. Recently, DuexMoi claimed that Swift, now dating NFL star Travis Kelce, had “married” Alwyn in a private, non-legal ceremony in “2020 or 2021″.

“Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these,” Paine posted.
Swift and Alwyn dated for six years, during which time they kept their relationship largely private. However, there was constant speculation that they had got engaged, which the English actor refuted in an interview with the Wall Street Journal: “If I had a pound for every time I was told I got engaged, then I would have a lot of pound coins.”
“The truth is that if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say it, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say it,” he added when asked whether or not he was ready to marry the “Bad Blood” singer .
Why did Swift and Alwyn break up?
In April this year, it was announced that Swift and Alwyn had split after first getting together in September 2016. According to Entertainment Tonight, their separation was amicable and “not dramatic”.
A source close to the former couple revealed exclusively to People magazine a difference in personalities was what ultimately caused their separation. The insider also state Joe had issues with Taylor’s level of fame, as well as her media exposure.
“Joe has struggled with Taylor’s level of fame and the attention from the public,” claimed the source. “The differences in their personalities have also become harder to ignore after years together. They’ve grown apart.”
Alwyn wins 2021 Grammy Award with Swift
Alwyn, who has played supporting roles in movies such as Mary Queen of Scots and Harriet, collaborated with his ex on 10 songs on her 2020 album Folklore, which won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards in 2021. The actor also worked on Evermore, her next release, which was nominated for the same award the following year.
The 32-year-old is listed as a co-writer on six Swift songs (”Exile”, “Betty”, “Champagne Problems”, “Convey Island”, “Evermore” and “Sweet Nothing”) on three different albums under the pseudonym William Bowery.
