Did ‘The Last of Us’ have a ‘Game of Thrones’ moment?

It seems like just yesterday that popular HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ got caught in an editing mishap where a modern day coffee cup was left lingering near the show’s lead star Emilia Clarke.

You’re telling me they had TWO YEARS to put together a decent show and they couldn’t even spot the goddamn Starbucks cup in Winterfell??!?!” wrote a user, along with pictures of the coffee cup.

There was certainly no shortage of viewers who tuned in for the mistake given ‘Game of Thrones’ had 46 million viewers during its eighth and final season.

‘The Last of Us’ follows in ‘Game of Thrones’ footsteps

Unfortunately, it appears that new HBO series ‘The Last of Us’ has followed in Thrones’ footsteps, as a scene in the season’s sixth and most recent episode, ‘Kin’, caught the attention of some observant fans.

A TikTok user caught the incident where it appears members of the film crew can be spotted to the left of the snowy frame.

Despite the editing mishap, the new zombie meets post apocalyptic series starring Chilean heartthrob Pedro Pascal has already garnered major success. The show raked in 4.7 million viewers in its first episode, ranking it as the second largest series debut in HBO history in the past 12 years.

HBO is no rookie when it comes to putting out hit series, the network being home to shows like ‘Euphoria,’ and ‘The White Lotus’.

‘The Last of Us’ already renewed for Season 2

Early fans of the show were quick to show their support in response to the editing error.

“The scene was so pretty to me I didn’t notice lol” one user commented in regards to the TikTok exposé.

Another noted that the show “continues to provide excellence.”

HBO has confirmed that ‘The Last of Us’ has already been renewed for Season 2, which was music to the ears of Neil Druckmann, the creator of ‘The Last of Us’ Video Game and executive producer of the HBO show.

“I’m humbled, honored, and frankly overwhelmed that so many people have tuned in and connected with our retelling of Joel and Ellie’s journey,” said Druckmann.
