Disney is planning to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with some new experiences and bringing back a fan-favorite

July, 4 2026 will the the 250th anniversary of the adaptation of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. As such, it could be considered the 250th birthday of the United States of America, a milestone that will be marked with big celebrations.

The Walt Disney Company has announced that it is introducing a new experience at Disney California Adventure Park and EPCOT. The ‘Soarin’ Across America’ attraction will take guests on a journey across the nation, taking in some of the most iconic landmarks in the U.S.

The existing Soarin’ Around the World attraction is getting a patriotic rethink to showcase some of the most breathtaking locations in the country. Visitors will be taken “from sea to shining sea—highlighting some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes.”

The new attraction will be part of a 24-hour live broadcast across the July 4th weekend, called ‘Disney Celebrates America’ with events across Disney+, Hulu, ABC, ESPN, Freeform, FX and National Geographic.

All good Independence Day celebrations should end with a lavish fireworks display and this will be no different, with a special evening fireworks broadcast from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.

“At its heart, America’s story is one of imagination, ambition, and possibility – the same ideals that have guided Disney since the beginning,” said Robert A. Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company. “This celebration honors both a nation and a spirit that never stop dreaming about what’s next.”

In addition to the re-imagined attraction, Disney is also donating $2.5 million to Blue Star families to offer greater support to the U.S. military. Military families across the country will be invited to attend early screenings of new Disney releases and special celebration events will be held on military bases around the world.
