Does Fátima Bosch, the winner of Miss Universe 2025, get to keep the crown?
After being crowned Miss Universe 2025, Fátima Bosch will wear the ‘Lumière de l’Infini’, a crown unveiled a year ago.
The design of the Miss Universe crown has evolved multiple times over more than seven decades. Mexico’s Fátima Bosch, who was this week named Miss Universe 2025 at the 74th edition of the global beauty pageant, will wear a crown that only made its debut a year ago.
In November 2024, the Miss Universe Organization, in partnership with French-Filipino jewelry brand Jewelmer, unveiled the ‘Lumière de l’Infini’ - a crown whose name translates as the ‘Light of Infinity’. But here’s the big question: Does the Miss Universe winner get to keep it? Let’s break it down.
Does the Miss Universe winner keep the crown?
Winning the Miss Universe title comes with more than just prestige. According to Miss Planet International, the champion receives an annual salary of about $250,000, along with sponsorships and access to top beauty, jewelry, and fashion brands. But what about the crown?
The short answer: No, Bosch won’t get to take it home. While the winner can wear it at select events during the year of her reign, the multi-million-dollar crown remains the property of the Miss Universe Organization.
However, the titleholder does receive a replica - crafted with crystals and semi-precious stones that mimic the brilliance of real diamonds and gems.
The Miss Universe crown: “A miracle created in 377 steps”
The first Miss Universe crown to be crafted in the Philippines, the ‘Lumière de l’Infini’ is adorned with South Sea pearls - “creations that embody every woman’s beauty and strength”, according to Jewelmer.
The company adds: “A miracle created in 377 steps over five years, this treasure is cultivated through the most pristine environment and utmost human care, embodying the brilliance of Jewelmer’s co-existence with Mother Nature. As long as there is a pearl, there is life shining through every moment.
“Universal elements are brought together in harmony, united through a crown made with a passion for creativity and innovation. Light and fire emanate from the sun, as depicted by the diamond-adorned rays and the warmth of precious yellow gold. Tendrils of diamonds and rich gold recall the seafoam meeting the shores and the air blowing on the waves.
“Golden South Sea pearls evoke the sphere of the Earth, radiating beauty from the ocean, our source of life, to the whispers and promises of the universe and its infinite beyond.”
