Dolly Parton sets a release date for her first rock album

Dolly Parton has finally given fans an official release date for her upcoming rock album.

‘Rockstar’, which is the title of Parton’s upcoming album, will be available everywhere on November 17, 2023.

Parton took to her social media to share the exciting announcement with her eager fans.

“I’m a rockstar now! My new album ‘Rockstar’ is coming November 17 and it’s available for pre-order. Let’s rock n’ roll.” Parton wrote.

The upcoming album will include 30 songs, 9 of which are original tracks made by the country legend.

But the album also includes 21 hit rock songs with plenty of star-packed collaborations which include big names such as Sting, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Lizzo, Pat Benatar, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Chris Stapleton, P!nk and more.

What inspired ‘Rockstar’?

‘Rockstar’ comes six months after Parton was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Before her induction, she tried to withdraw her name for consideration because she didn’t “feel that I have earned that right,” due to her being best known as a country star.

Despite her efforts, Parton was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and she decided that to “earn” her place she would create a rock album.

When can fans expect the first single off ‘Rockstar’?

Along with the album announcement, Parton also revealed that her first single from her upcoming album would be “World on Fire,” which will be released on May 11.

She will also be performing the single at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards on the same day as its release.
