Downton Abbey 3 confirmed: Who is returning and who are the new cast members?
Directed by Simon Curtis and written Julian Fellowes, Downton Abbey 3 is in production.


Following the success of the 2109 Downton Abbey and it’s follow up in 2022 with Downton Abbey: A New Era, fans of the historical drama set in the late 1920s are delighted with the news that a third instalment is in the pipeline.
Focus Features confirmed on Monday that a third part of the drama is in production with no releaser date as yet confirmed.
What we know about the third instalment
The third film is written by Downton creator Julian Fellowes and is produced by Gareth Neame, Fellowes and Emmy Award-winning Liz Trubridge with Emmy Award nominee Simon Curtis returning to direct after overseeing 2022′s Downton Abbey: A New Era.

The bulk of the main actors: Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael all return for the third film, alongside exciting new additions Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, Arty Froushan, and many other fan favorites.
American actor Giamatti is set to return as Cora Grantham’s brother Harold Levinson with British actor Dominic West also set to return in his role as Guy Dexter from Downton Abbey: A New Era.
