Drake reveals how much money he has lost from gambling
The Canadian rapper shared on social media the total balance of his latest bets, which have confirmed losses in the millions.
Drake is known for sharing glimpses of his personal life off-stage with his followers, and this time, he surprised everyone by revealing the details of his most recent bets. The 38-year-old Canadian rapper posted on his Instagram Stories that he had wagered more than $125 million. What drew the most attention, however, were the millions he lost.
According to the image he shared, Drake lost just over eight million dollars, accompanying the post with this message: “I’m sharing the other side of betting. The losses are brutal on this streak. I hope to post a big win for you all soon because I’m the only one who has never seen these guys max out, while they do it once a week.” In another post, he clarified that of the $125 million bet, $75 million was related to Fortnite.
For years, Drake has lost large sums on bets, to the point where many believe he carries a kind of “curse” every time he makes his predictions public. This reputation has followed him since 2013, when he was named the global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, the NBA team from his native Canada. From that moment, the team endured five years of setbacks before finally winning the championship in 2019, led by Kawhi Leonard.
But Drake’s streak of bad luck hasn’t been limited to basketball. He’s also been associated with notable losses in football and mixed martial arts. On one occasion, he bet on Paris Saint-Germain—only for the French team to be thrashed 5-1 by Lille shortly after defender Layvin Kurzawa took a photo with Drake. A similar scenario unfolded in the UFC in 2018, when Conor McGregor lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov after taking a photo with Drake before the fight.
