Just before Drake headed to Raleigh, North Carolina to coheadline the Dreamville Festival with J. Cole this weekend, the rapper surprised fans with a snippet of a new song. On Friday the ‘Hotline Bling’ singer previewed a new track titled ‘Rescue Me’ during an episode of Sound 42′s ‘The Fry Yiy Show’ on SiriusXM Radio.

The new song samples Kim Kardashian discussing her divorce with Kanye West during the series finale of E!’s ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians.’ In the sample, Kim Kardashian is heard saying, “I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that,” to her mother Kris Jenner.

Did Drake and Kim K hook up?

The inclusion of the Kardashian dialogue appears to be very intentional, as Drake and the Skims Founder, Kim Kardashian were once rumored to have hooked up. However, Kardashian and her ex-husband West have denied the speculation.

West, however, did accuse the ‘Take Care’ singer of acting as if he did sleep with his then-wife.

”You acted like you did,” he said on “Drink Champs” in November 2021. “It’s like somebody throwing a marble and hiding their hand.”

A decade long feud

Drake and Ye’s beef however began long before the hooking-up rumors started. The reported feud between the two rappers started in 2010 when West took Drake off of his song ‘All of the Lights’ after the recorded demo with Drake’s verse leaked and gained popularity.

The two went back and forth with various disses on songs and in interviews over the next decade. Most notably in 2018, Drake accused West of telling fellow rapper Pusha T about his son.

However, Pusha T who publicized the information eventually cleared the air in an interview explaining that it was Drake’s close collaborator and friend Noah ‘40′ Shebib who leaked the information about Drake’s secret son.

Later in November of 2021, it appeared that the two were friends again as Drake posted a photo of the duo standing together to his Instagram with three white dove emojis in the caption. However, the photo has now been deleted.
