Ed Sheeran announces intimate North American ‘Subtract Tour’
The tour will find the artist player in smaller venues, giving fans a more intimate show.
While Ed Sheeran may be dealing with an ongoing copyright infringement case, he appears to be looking to the future in the midst of his legal troubles.
The ‘Shape of You’ singer has announced a new North American tour named ‘–’ or ‘Subtract’, in honor of his 2023 album of the same name, set to take place in smaller venues across the U.S. and Canada, giving fans an intimate concert experience in 14 new shows.
Sheeran shared the news in an Instagram post with the caption: “I’m playing some smaller theater shows in North America this summer, so I can play Subtract the entire way through with a full band in an intimate setting. Sign up for on-sale access, link in stories. Tickets on sale Tues 2nd May x”
A smaller set of shows within a larger tour
The news of the tour comes as he’s just about to embark on the third leg of his ‘+–=÷× Tour’ or, ‘The Mathematics Tour’, in May, where he’ll be playing stadiums and arenas across North America.
But in the midst of the tour, he will be conducting the smaller ‘– Tour’ shows that take place one day before he plays a stadium show in the respective city he’s currently in.
Supporting Sheeran for the ‘– Tour’ is Ben Kweller for 12 of the new shows, although a supporting act for two dates has not been confirmed.
How to buy tickets
Sheeran will be using Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan service for the shows, giving fans a chance to receive a special access code to gain access to a presale before tickets go on sale to the public.
Registration for Verified Fans for the ‘– Tour’ is open until Sunday, April 30 at 11:59 P.M. ET.
