Elle Fanning confirms break up with Max Minghella
‘Handmaid’s Tale’ actor and the actress have officially come to an end.
Elle Fanning, 24, has recently confirmed with Harper’s Baazar UK in an interview that she is, in fact, single.
Her and long-time boyfriend, Max Minghella, 37, have recently ended their relationship. Rumors about the pair started in 2018 on the set of ‘Teen Spirit’ and have been together since the 2019 Met Gala when the couple rocked up together as an official couple.
Love still on the brain for Elle
Though the two may no longer be together, Elle doesn’t foresee a future without love in it. The young, 24-year-old ‘The Great’ actor even added that she hopes to have children someday.
“I’m a hopeless romantic,” she told the outlet in an interview published on April 4. “I believe in love at first sight. Call me crazy, but I believe in those things. I feel that it’s my destiny.”
Keeping it professional
The relationship has generally been quite hushed, only appearing together in public for photos at major events and galas.
The two stepped out together this December for the premiere of ‘Babylon’ where Max appears in the film alongside Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, meaning the break up had to be quite recent.
Minghella, known for his role as Nick Blaine on ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, wrote and directed Teen Spirit. Fanning starred in the film as Violet, a Polish teenager who wants to be a pop star despite the obstacles in her way.
At the time, Max claims Elle is “the only actress who could have carried” the movie ‘Teen Spirit’.
“It’s an incredible list of requirements. You have to be able to sing, you have to be able to dance, you’ve got to be able to speak Polish convincingly, do the British accent, play the age range, and carry the movie with an incredibly nuanced performance,” Mighella told the outlet.
“It’s a lot for one person, and she just handled everything with such discipline and professionalism, and she never complained.”
Fanning also talked about Minghella, saying, “I mean, we just really love working together. That was, like, very special.”
