After Emily Ratajkowski and Harry Styles were spotted in a major PDA moment earlier this year, the model has opened up about the now-viral video of the incident.

The model admitted that she “didn’t expect” the steamy makeout session to gather such attention. The ‘My Body’ author was recorded kissing the Grammy award winner against a van in Tokyo last month, while the singer was on tour.

In a recent interview with Spanish Vogue, the model opened up about the kiss and its potential impact on Styles’ recent ex-girlfriend Olivia Wilde. The two dated for nearly two years and called it quits sometime in November.

Unexpected social media attention

“I didn’t expect this to happen, but I think, in general, there’s a reason certain celebrities live in LA, hire security, don’t go to public restaurants,” she told the outlet.

“It’s very bizarre to have certain experiences and then have the whole world know and comment on them.”

The model also opened up about her past relationships and how they have impacted her.

Past relationships

“I’m just a person who’s gone from a three-year relationship to a four-year one,” she said, referring to her past relationship with musician Jeff Magid, and her recent separation from ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.

“This is the first time in a long time I’ve been in a dating stage. The interest there is in that particular area is very strange. Not that I’m surprised, but it’s a tiny slice of my life.

“Most of my life is focused on my son and my work. But I guess these issues don’t inspire the same flashy headlines. The invasion of private aspects is very hard for me,” Ratajkowski added.

The alleged feud between Ratajkowski and Wilde

The ‘Gone Girl’ actress also alluded to her alleged feud with Wilde following the kiss, saying: “That’s how it is. Just an unfortunate issue.”

The actress went on to address “slut shaming” and feeling “frustrated” about the narrative young women are facing on social media, she then referenced the recent cheating scandal involving Adam Levine.

“In case you ask me about it, it’s more of the same,” she said, adding, “I feel bad for Olivia [Wilde], because she has had to suffer this situation on several occasions.”
