Emma Heming Willis shares vision for dementia research

The model’s focus has turned to battling the disease her husband Bruce Willis battles.

Emma Heming Willis is doing what she can to make a better future for those who suffer from dementia.

Heming Willis’ husband, Bruce Willis, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia earlier in 2023.

Optimistic for the future

Emma Heming Willis has now shared her vision for what she believes the future could look like for people struggling with the illness.

She is optimistic about the way research is going, and believes it will make even greater advancements in the field.

Heming Willis shared the update Saturday on Instagram, where she told fans that her family was walking in faith to find a cure and posted some precious moments from her family.

“Yesterday I read that Wave Life Sciences ended their clinical trial that could potentially treat frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS.),” Heming Willis wrote. “Where I’m not sure it could have helped us over here, it doesn’t really matter, it still feels like a gut punch.”

“But I always have to look at the silver linings—they are trying,” she elaborated. “So I want to say thank you to Wave Life Sciences also to Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation and AFTD who played an active role through the Treat FTD Fund program.”

Keep things going

The model explained that she wanted to keep “that momentum going” and asked others to “build on the learnings/findings.”

“And don’t give up on this loving community,” she added. “Our family will continue to keep the faith and never lose hope.”

Bruce Willis shares two daughters with Emma Heming Willis, and three daughters with Demi Moore, his former wife. Moore is still very much involved in the lives of the Willis family, and has joined Bruce, Emma, and the kids on many special occasions.
