Family jealousy? Elizabeth Olsen breaks silence on relationship with famous sisters
The California born actress made an rare about her twin sisters on Today with Jenna & Friends.
36-year-old actress Elizabeth Olsen gained worldwide recognition for her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe media franchise, including in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the miniseries WandaVision. with her showing in the miniseries earned her nominations for both Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
Elizabeth is also the younger sister of twin fashion designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who became successful television and film actresses as children.
Both Mary-Kate and Ashley, have also influenced Elizabeth in her career but there was a point in time when Olsen considered changing her name to her middle name, Chase, to distance herself from her sisters, as she wanted to be noticed for her talent and not solely for being their sister.
‘Different connection’
Speaking on Today with Jenna & Friends earlier this week, the younger sister analised the family dynamic and affirmed that she never tried to compete with the twins and their ‘special partnership’.
The 26-year-old claimed: “I also really admire the partnership that [Mary-Kate and Ashley] have and don’t compete with it, in a way. It’s something different,” she continued. “It’s a really interesting thing to watch. I admire it; it’s a different kind of connection.”
She added: “there’s something that I’ll never experience of that connection, but I feel lucky to be witness to it,” Elizabeth said. “I actually think it’s an amazing feeling, being the younger sibling to twin sisters. If I was spoiled by one, the other wanted to match it. I loved it.”
