First look: Opening images emerge of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ with Anne Hathaway
With filming now underway for the sequel to the 2006 hit, star Hathaway has shared Andy Sachs’ look for the new movie.
One year after the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada was confirmed, production is officially underway in New York City. Anne Hathaway marked the occasion by sharing the first photo of her return as Andrea “Andy” Sachs on her official Instagram account.

In the post, the 42-year-old actress is seen wearing a tailored pinstripe suit, black block-heeled boots, and a pearl necklace - signaling that Sachs has finally come into her own style.
20th Century Studios also got in on the act, posting a short video of Hathaway in character, dressed in a Spring/Summer 2025 Gabriela Hearst gown. Behind her stands a sculpture of the number “2,” a clear nod to the long-awaited sequel.

Which cast and crew are back for The Devil Wears Prada 2?
As previously reported by Deadline, director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna are both returning for the sequel, raising hopes that the new film will preserve the tone and charm that made the 2006 original a cultural phenomenon.
The original cast is also back: Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will reprise their iconic roles. Joining them is Kenneth Branagh, who will play Miranda Priestly’s husband.

When is The Devil Wears Prada 2 coming out?
Based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, the first film followed the story of Priestly, a powerful fashion magazine editor, and her assistant Sachs, who sacrifices much of her personal life in pursuit of career success.
Now, nearly two decades after the original release, the sequel will explore Priestly’s struggle to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of traditional media, according to Variety. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated to hit theaters in May 2026.
