While the official guest list to the Met Gala won’t be revealed until the day of – May 1 –, some celebrities, like Florence Pugh, have already confirmed their attendance.

This year’s theme is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty in honor of the German-born fashion designer who passed away in 2019 at the age of 85.

Pugh has stated that she will be attending the gala in a Valentino creation as the 27-year-old actress is now the face of the luxury brand.

She teased her outfit by saying, “It’s big, but we like big, don’t we?”

Pugh’s history with Valentino

The actress has worked with Valentino on several occasions throughout the years, but has only recently cemented their partnership.

Pugh was featured in the brand’s latest fashion campaign just a few days ago. In the campaign, Pugh can be seen holding up the brand’s pink Rockstud handbag with an open-mouthed expression.

“As you can see… I’m pretty ecstatic to announce that my @MaisonValentino campaign is here,” Pugh wrote on Instagram. “Truly an honor to continue creating art with my family at Valentino.

“Working with talented people is one thing, but to work with talented people who are great friends feeds the soul – and this campaign truly did feed the soul.

“Thank you for letting me be me. Cheers and love and so much thanks to the past, the current and the future. I’m f**king proud of this one,” she concluded.

Trouble on social media

Pugh became the target of criticism in July 2022 after donning a pink Valentino dress that showed her bare chest through the sheer fabric. However, Pugh made it clear that she’s comfortable with her body and didn’t express regret over her choice to wear the piece.

“Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there wouldn’t be a commentary on it,” Pugh wrote at the time. “Whether it be positive or negative, we all knew what we were doing.

“I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. I wasn’t before, during or even now after.”
