Selena Gomez’s former best friend and kidney donor Francia Raísa seemingly shaded her just months after Gomez had praised her.

The 34-year-old actress was seen walking her dog in Studio City on Sunday when she was asked several questions about her current relationship with the Rare Beauty Founder.

The ‘How I Met Your Father’ actress is no longer following Gomez on social media. So the paparazzi asked if things were still good between the two of them.

However, Raísa was not keen on answering and politely ignored the inquiry. Francia smirked as the question was being asked before cheekily replying: “Sunday is so fun, it’s a day of rest. I’m Francia and I’m hanging out with my dog.”

The cameraman also commented on her avoidance of the question, to which she replied “I’m really good at this game, I’ve gotten better.” She then continued to talk about random topics such as where she’s from, basketball teams, and the types of tree species.

When did Selena Gomez have a kidney transplant?

Selena Gomez underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 as a result of complications from lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease. Lupus can attack various organs in the body, including the kidneys, and in Selena’s case, her kidneys were severely affected. Her close friend at the time, Francia Raisa, generously donated one of her kidneys to Selena.

Selena has been open about her struggles with lupus and the challenges she faced during her recovery from the transplant. She has used her platform to raise awareness about the disease and encourage others to take care of their health.

Previous praises for Raísa

In interviews, Selena has spoken about the profound impact Francia’s gift had on her life and how grateful she is to have a friend who would make such a sacrifice for her.

Just over a month ago, Gomez praised Francia Raísa in an episode of Apple TV+’s ‘Dear…’ series.

“I will never ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia,” Selena shared in the March 10 episode. “The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”

“It was one of those moments where I felt watched over,” Selena explained. “I know I was so, so, so lucky. I understand that that doesn’t happen for a lot of people and I know the outcome of some of those situations and how serious they are, so I do not take it lightly that it’s happened to me that way.”
