Gwyneth Paltrow is no stranger to the spotlight.

Known for her many roles in several famous films, Paltrow has become equally well known for her real-life escapades such as “consciously uncoupling” from former husband Chris Martin, eating bone broth for lunch and launching a vagina-scented candle (currently sold out).

However, her latest contribution to the office buzz is the recent trial over a skiing collision in 2016, which has prompted a flurry of headlines and provided many memorable quotes.

Terry Sanderson, 76, sued Paltrow for $300,000 (originally $3.1 million) in damages over physical and emotional wounds he claims he sustained when Paltrow allegedly crashed into him on the ski slope at Deer Valley Park in Utah.

The 50-year-old actress denied being responsible and counter-sued for $1 plus legal fees, claiming that Sanderson was the one who crashed into her.

The trial is now over, with the jury deciding Paltrow wasn’t at fault for the 2016 collision at the posh Utah ski resort, but let’s take a look at the most memorable moments from the eight-day event.

Is she friends with Taylor Swift ?

The plaintiff’s attorney asked if Paltrow had learned about the symbolic amount she was asking for through Taylor Swift’s previous public groping trial in 2017 against radio personality David Mueller.

“Remember me asking you, is it symbolic and you said yes it is, and I asked you as well, well you learned about that through Taylor Swift, because she asked for $1 in symbolic damages, right?” the attorney asked.

Paltrow replied, “I think I said at that point that I had not been familiar with it but I since am.”

“I would not say we are ‘good friends,’” Paltrow said under oath. “We are friendly. I’ve taken my kids to one of her concerts before, but we don’t talk very often.”

Sanderson writes ‘I’m famous’

Sanderson’s case suffered a setback when it was revealed he sent an email to his children on the day of the collision with the subject line: “I’m famous.”

The implication was that colliding with such an A-lister was about to make him a star.

“My head was scrambled,” he told the court. “All I was trying to do was desperately communicate with my kids before they heard from someone else. I didn’t pick my words well - and it was not at all how I felt.”

He added: “I was really trying to add some levity to a serious situation and it backfired. Little did I know this is where we’d be.”

“Did you think it was cool to collide with a celebrity?” his attorney Kristin VanOrman.

“Absolutely not,” Sanderson said instead. “That is not who I am.”

‘We lost half a day skiing’- iconic Paltrow quote

During one of the days, Paltrow took the stand to testify and was asked about the losses she suffered from the accident.

Her response: “Well, we lost half a day of skiing.”

Many fans have turned to memes and other funnies to make light of her iconic quote during the trial, which shows her irritation at the whole situation.

What she whispered to Sanderson when they left the courtroom

As Paltrow was leaving the courtroom, she appeared to whisper something to Sanderson that wasn’t picked up by the microphones.

His lawyer later told Entertainment Tonight that Paltrow whispered, “I wish you well.”

“Thank you, dear,” he is said to have replied.
