Halle Berry pokes fun at herself after charity event fall
Halle Berry posted a video of herself falling facedown in front of a large audience on Friday.
Halle Berry took a bit of tumble at a charity event in Los Angeles on Friday, but the Oscar winner took it all in stride after poking fun at herself on social media.
The 56-year-old was presenting an award at the Looking Beyond LA luncheon on Friday, but things didn’t go to plan when she walked up to the stage.
Berry face-planted in front of the large audience, and she let it be known to her followers on Instagram.
“Sometimes you bust your a--!” Berry captioned her post, which includes a snippet of Boney M.’s ‘Rasputin’ playing as part of a TikTok trend.
“My dear friend @shillahekmatpiano invited me to speak at her charity event celebrating a wonderful organization called @lookingbeyondla that raises money for children with special needs… then that happened!!! I face planted. If you can go to lookingbeyondla.com and donate. Children are worth it !”
The clip shows Berry making her way to the podium before she trips and falls facedown on the stage. Just when the audience begins to grasp and cry out, the video stops, with a red arrow pointing to Berry as she lays on the ground.
The video then cuts to Berry holding her hands over her face laughing, while adding: “Okay, if I see this on the Internet, Van’s coming for you.”
Berry wore a sheer lace bustier underneath a Zuhair Murad blazer for the occasion, along with a matching miniskirt on top of a pair of flaired trousers. Berry’s stylist Lindsay Flores shared a video of the actress wearing the attire.
Berry’s upcoming projects
On Friday, Pendulum Therapeutics, a biotech company that develops products to improve gut and metabolic health, announced that Berry was taking on the role of chief communications director, as well as equity owner and investor.
Berry is also set to star in three upcoming films. The 56-year-old will play Sara Morse, a mother living in a rural location who discovers an extraterrestrial object under her home, in the Netflix sci-fi adventure ‘The Mothership’. She will also serve as executive producer on the project.
She’ll also star in the Netflix spy thriller ‘Our Man from Jersey’ alongside Mark Wahlberg, as well as the upcoming horror movie ‘Mother Land’.
