Pop star Taylor Swift has never won a Golden Globe - but that might be about to change. The singer-songwriter will be among the nominees at the 81st edition of the TV and film awards, which take place in Beverly Hills this weekend.
Which Golden Globe has Swift been nominated for?
Swift’s Eras Tour movie, which chronicles part of her ongoing worldwide concert tour, is one of eight films that have been nominated for the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award.
The other contenders for the prize are: Barbie; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3; John Wick: Chapter 4; Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1; Oppenheimer; Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse; and The Super Mario Bros Movie.
One of two award categories that will be making their debuts at the 2024 Golden Globes, the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement accolade is contested by the year’s highest-grossing movies.
Is this Swift’s first Golden Globes nomination?
No, this is the fifth Golden Globes nod of Swift’s career. The 34-year-old has been in the running for the Best Original Song award on four occasions.
In 2013, Swift was nominated for “Safe & Sound”, which featured in The Hunger Games. The following year, she received Golden Globes recognition for her track “Sweeter than Fiction”, written for the film One Chance, before again being nominated in 2020 for “Beautiful Ghosts”, a song from the Cats soundtrack.
Last year, the 12-time Grammy winner was again a beaten nominee when “Carolina”, for the movie Where the Crawdads Sing, went up for Best Original Song.
Will Swift be at the Golden Globes? With Travis Kelce?
Sources have told the celebrity news outlet Page Six that Swift will be in attendance at the Golden Globes, but that she won’t be joined by her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.
Although Kelce will be in Los Angeles for the Kansas City Chiefs’ match-up against the LA Chargers earlier in the day, Page Six has been told that the tight end will travel back to Missouri with the team straight after the game.

Hosted by the comedian and actor Jo Koy, the 2024 Golden Globes are to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday 7 January 2024. Live TV coverage of the Globes is due to begin at 8pm ET/5pm PT, with CBS and Paramount+ broadcasting the event in the US.
