Taking place around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the storyline in House of the Dragon focuses on the origins of House Targaryen, which remained in power for three centuries. As can be seen in the first official trailer for the latest instalment of the series, viewers of the second season will be immersed in a civil war that breaks out in House Targaryen.
