How Dallas Jenkins deals with obstacles while filming ‘The Chosen’ Season 4
Come rain or high water, the cast of the epic television series forges on.
Dallas Jenkins and the cast and crew of the popular crowdfunded project, ‘The Chosen’, are back on set filming the fourth season of the series.
The show portrays the life and ministry of Jesus during his three years of public ministry before his crucifixion.
Jenkins recently appeared in a video showing an insider’s glimpse into the shooting of season four.
Bigger than the weather
While being interviewed in the video, Jenkins was asked about the filming and if there have been any obstacles so far.
After pointing out that there are a total of 75 days scheduled for shooting season four of ‘The Chosen’, which is largely filmed outdoors, the director said despite the weather, he is still optimistic.
“I can’t believe we’re shooting again,” Jenkins said. “We’re already here so it’s week one of filming, and we’ve had some consequences of weather.”
“I take a couple months to build the schedule, it never fails,” Jenkins lamented. “We change it, stuff happens, weather, you know it’s like this it’s like perfect fit okay, and then it just goes like that.”
“75 days all have to go well,” the director said with a smile. “I’m optimistic. We’ve had a good pattern on ‘The Chosen’ of things going well even when they don’t — they end up working.
“Because this project isn’t fully in my hands.”
What’s the best season of ‘The Chosen’ so far?
“I think it’s exciting when that stuff happens,” the director continued, explaining his perspective on the breakdown of the four seasons so far.
“Season four is I think gonna be so far our most emotionally challenging season. There was the year of preparation, the year of popularity is happening, and he’s increasing in popularity. Season four is when it starts to turn,” Jenkins says in the video.
“Everybody’s coming off such a high with season three I’m looking forward to merging what I know everybody’s expecting we’re building towards with day-to-day life for the disciples we’re gonna soon be in territory that the gospel is right like almost beat for beat what happens here we go and so we got to set it all up here,” Jenkins concluded.
