Jennifer Lopez values her health and wellbeing so much that she rises early each morning to kick off her day with a workout.

The ‘Shotgun Wedding’ actress and mother of two shared that she exercises not just to maintain her fitness and rock the red carpet, but to feel good and stay healthy as well.

The benefits of breaking a sweat

The entrepreneur told UsWeekly on Wednesday while promoting her new sports drink in partnership with BODYARMOR LYTE and their ‘Choose More’ campaign, that exercising early in the morning helps her stay positive mentally.

Lopez likes to sweat “first thing in the morning” even though she often has a very “busy schedule”, and that exercise is generally “a motivating factor” in her life.

“It’s no secret that fitness is a very important part of my life,” the ‘Jenny From the Block’ singer said. “I think there’s a positive correlation between exercise and mental health.”

“When you find a good balance through determination and focus, we’re naturally pushing to be the best version of ourselves,” JLo continued. “I try to make good choices and balance my time.”

How does JLo work out?

Jennifer Lopez varies her workout routine to keep pushing her limits and maintaining her athleticism.

“I’m always evolving and looking for things that keep me excited and motivated,” the entertainer explained. “I’m not afraid to challenge myself, so I’m open to pushing myself, which is what I’m doing right now as I rehearse for my new album, coming out this summer.”

The album JLo refers to is ‘This Is Me... Now’, a sequel to 2003′s ‘This Is Me... Then’.

The star has done kickboxing, circuit training, core work, lunges, and burpees. Her personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, says that Lopez takes her training very seriously, no matter the activity.

She shows up no matter what, she takes the time seriously, she knows her body, she wants to be herself,” Anderson said about JLo. “She knows that putting in the hard work to get her workout in is part of it.”
