How Lizzo and Adele celebrated on Grammy Awards night
Lizzo and Adele had a great time at the 65th Grammy Awards according to the ‘Truth Hurts’ singer.
Lizzo had a memorable 2023 Grammy Awards, winning Record of the Year for ‘About Damn Time’.
It looks like it was even more memorable due to the fact she spent the evening with Adele.
The two enjoyed themselves, taking in the star-studded event with a bit of booze, with Lizzo pointing out she wasn’t prepared for her win given how much fun they were having.
“I legitimately was so drunk,” Lizzo said during an appearance on the ‘Elvis Duran and the Morning Show’. “Me and Adele were drinking so much that we didn’t even really know what the categories were at this point.
“We were like, ‘Did they do Best Artist?’ We didn’t even know, and when it was time and they would call our names we would just be like, ‘Smile.’
“When they called my name I was in total shock because I didn’t expect to win at all.”
Lizzo had no say in where she sat
Lizzo was asked why she was seated with Adele and Harry Styles, and she made it clear she had no say in the matter.
“I had zero say in where I was sitting...but Adele had 100 percent say in where she was sitting,” the singer stated.
“Adele FaceTimed me when I was at Grammy rehearsal a few days before and she was like, ‘Oh my god, oh my god, we’re sitting next to each other.’”
Lizzo added that she even brought a flask of tequila, along with a flask of white wine for Adele.
“I brought it for Adele, and then I drank hers,” she admitted. “I had so many flasks. I had like three flasks at the table. Always be prepared.”
Lizzo and the Grammy Awards
Lizzo’s win at the 2023 Grammy Awards was the fourth of her career, and she made it clear she was enjoying her time with Adele when accepting the award.
“Let me tell you something,” she said. “Me and Adele are having a good time just enjoying ourselves, rooting for our friends. This is an amazing night, this is so unexpected.”
Back in 2020, she took home three Grammy Awards for Best Urban Contemporary Album for ‘Cuz I Love You (Deluxe)’, Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Truth Hurts’, and Best Traditional R&B Performance for ‘Jerome’.
